Staffing:

The hall provides the following staff inclusive in the hire fee:

• A Duty Manager.
• A Box Office Assistant.
• A Backstage/ Stage Manager.
• A Sound and Lighting Technician.

All events must be attended by an in-house technician regardless of whether the house PA and lights are being used.

Security staff

The Cheese and Grain has an exclusive contract with Taurus Security for this purpose and security staff are hired in at extra cost to the promoter. It is a licence requirement to have at least two security staff in attendance on the night of a performance. The number of security staff rises in relation to the size of the audience, to the equivalent of one extra security person per hundred, after the initial threshold of 300. The cost of security can be obtained by contacting the management. The hall does not take commission on the cost of security hire.

Casual Crew

These can be provided for get-in and get-out purposes, for an additional cost. Note that the get in area to the hall is only 10 metres from parking space to the stage, and completely flat, so large numbers of crew are rarely necessary.
