Furniture and equipment

Capacity/Layout:

The Cheese and Grain is an 850 capacity venue for standing shows, which is reduced to 500 capacity for seated events. The hall size can be halved with use of curtaining to create a more intimate space. The hall can also be arranged in a variety of different seating plans that can include the use of tables in a cabaret setting, or in rows. Up to 70 trestle tables are available for markets and trade shows. For links to layout designs and specific capacity, for either concert or market/ trade events, click HERE

Technical Specifications

The Cheese and Grain has a fully equipped PA and lighting rig, which is inclusive in the hire fee. No reduction in hire fee is made if the promoter chooses to bring other equipment, as the hall still has to provide adequate technical staff cover. Most bands use the in-house equipment. Facilities for performers:

The venue can provide the following facilities for performers:

A backstage dressing room with sofa, chairs, fridge, toilet, and showering facilities. This is sufficient for one band. A large backstage workshop space with rails, sofas, and tables, is also available for changing.

The cafe at the Cheese & Grain can provide food and drink for rider requirements.

An area in the foyer can be made available for selling of merchandise during the course of the event for a nominal additional cost. Please note that bands are NOT allowed to sell merchandise in the venue’s main hall area at any time for security reasons.
