Permanent staff
The Cheese and Grain employs management staff, box office staff and caretakers. All posts are part-time. A vacancy in any of these posts will always be advertised in local papers and posted on this website.
Casual workers
In order to staff events the Cheese and Grain uses a bank of casual workers to cover the duties below. Mostly this is evening work, although technicians and back stage can start as early as 4pm:
- Duty Managers – overall management of event
- PA/lighting technicians – sound and lights
- Backstage supervisors – performers, back stage, some caretaking
- Front of House – selling tickets
- Cloakroom – selected events only
- Crew – loading and unloading performer’s kit, selected events only

The closing date for applications for the recently advertised General Manager and Administrative Assistant posts was 5pm on Friday 23rd September. Shortlisting for both posts will take place during the week beginning 3rd October.
