BOOKING Band or agent? The Cheese & Grain deals exclusively with promoters who bring artists to the venue. We do not at present promote gigs ourselves. This means that though we are happy to forward band demos/biogs. to promoters, we cannot engage in long conversations with regard to how highly rated your band is, or the resurgence of folkpunkmetal. If you would be offended by the lack of a reply about your band, please do not forward material to us. At the same time, we wish you all the best and hope you are able to play here in some shape or form someday. If you feel like giving event promotion a shot, please get in touch. Unhappy with what we book, or want to promote something better? E-mail us!
14+ POLICY The Cheese & Grain aims to open up the hall and the majority of its events to as inclusive a proportion of the gig-going public as possible. This means we welcome unaccompanied teenagers to most events as they, after all, are the future of live music. Accompanied minors of a suitable age, (We recommend 10+) are also welcome to non-14+ events with a (sensible) adult. 18+ events are 100% 18+! 14+ events are 100% 14+! We do not admit toddlers or babes in arms to the venue when amplified music is being played.
ALCOHOL/DRUGS The Cheese & Grain has a zero tolerance policy on alcohol and drug abuse within the venue. We cooperate 100% with police in ensuring all customers are both safe and sensible. This is especially so on events where under-18's are likely to be present, so: IF YOU ARE, OR APPEAR TO BE UNDER-18, BRING SOME ID. IF YOU WANT TO PURCHASE AND CONSUME ALCOHOL, YOU WILL NEED ID TO PROVE YOU ARE OVER-18. IF YOU ARE OR APPEAR TO BE DRUNK, YOU WILL BE REFUSED ADMISSION. IF YOU ARE OR APPEAR TO BE DRUNK WITHIN THE VENUE, WE WILL ARRANGE FOR YOU TO LEAVE SAFELY.
ID We suggest: Under 18: SCHOOL BUS PASS - PASSPORT - BIRTH CERTIFICATE/MEDICAL CARD/NI CARD WITH PHOTO ID Over 18: PASSPORT - DRIVERS LICENSE - CITIZEN CARD - UNIVERSITY MONDEX CARD NB. We are very sceptical of standard student cards owing to forgeries. |
